About CICI

The Conflict Islands Conservation Initiative (CICI) was established in 2017 as a proactive response to the urgent need for marine conservation efforts in the Conflict Islands, Papua New Guinea. Our mission is to protect and preserve the rich biodiversity of the Conflict Islands' marine ecosystem through research, education, and sustainable management practices. CICI's goals include the establishment of marine protected areas, conducting scientific research, implementing community outreach programs, and fostering partnerships to ensure the long-term conservation of this pristine marine environment and its connectivity to the Great Barrier reef.
